Jonathan Haslam

Jonathan Haslam established the communications consultancy, Haslamedia, in 2005. Using his extensive private sector and communications experience as a foundation, Jonathan has won contracts with a diversity of companies including Arriva PLC, Jarvis PLC and the Association of Train Operating Companies.

Working as an affiliate of Media Intelligence Partners, Jonathan lends his expertise to certain projects. He is also Joint Managing Director, alongside Nick Wood, of the media and presentation training company, Pitch-Perfect. Among others Pitch-Perfect provides training support to HSBC, British Venture Capital Association, DHL, Phoenix Equity Partners, Sovereign Capital and European Climate Exchange.

Prior to founding Haslamedia, Jonathan worked as Director of Group Communications at Jarvis PLC and Director of Corporate Affairs at LME. He also worked as Director of Communications for a number of central government departments including the Department of Education and Employment, the Home Office and the Ministry of Agriculture.

He was a member of the Scott Inquiry Unit at the Cabinet Office before becoming Chief Press Secretary to the then Prime Minister John Major in January 1996. In this role he dealt with the national press on a daily basis, carried out the media strategy in respect of the Scott Report and maintained the integrity of Government communications in an intense political climate.
