Willem is an award-winning investigative journalist whose work focuses on human rights, civil conflict and military force.
His written work has been published in The Los Angeles Times, The Boston Globe, The Sunday Times, The Daily Telegraph, Harper’s, Prospect Magazine, Die Zeit and La Stampa. His photographs have been commissioned by Men’s Vogue, Paris Match and Der Spiegel magazine.
Willem currently films, reports and produces international current affairs segments for CBS News, a major American TV network, as well as for other international outlets.
His work means he travels almost constantly, reporting from conflict zones and hard-to-reach places, and delivering insightful coverage on news stories that really matter. He has previously worked at CNN, the Los Angeles Times, ABC News and HDNet's Dan Rather Reports.
His undergraduate degree at Oxford was Classics, and he has an MA in journalism from New York University.
