Karis McLarty, a Courvoisier Future 500, is a well known human rights activist, presenter, singer, writer, fashion muse and international lawyer.
Her many talents have received widespread coverage including Sunday Times Style, Sunday Times Culture, Dazed and Confused, Female First, and Sound on Sound.
Her commitment to human rights and women saw Karis chosen as a member of The Circle, set up by Annie Lennox in conjunction with Oxfam to highlight the plight of women in the developing world. Other members include Miriam Gonzalez-Durantez, Melanie Hall QC and Queen Rania of Jordan.
Karis was also chosen to appear in the Levi’s ‘Inspiring Women’ campaign in 2011.
Karis is also involved with the Medical Foundation for Victims of Torture, the Alternatives to Violence Project, and Hogar Villegas Orphanage in Bolivia.
A talented vocalist and songwriter, her recent track ‘Come on Sunshine’ for the band ‘My Toys Like Me was released to critical acclaim.
The Sunday Times described it as ‘folktronic perfection’ while Clash magazine called it ‘a giant maudlin pop masterpiece.’
Karis is also the lead singer for the underground folk noir band Delirium Tremens.
An experienced presenter and broadcaster, Karis has presented a number of fashion and charity events and appeared as a commentator on Moviewatch, the Culture Show, and London Tonight.
As well as a Courvoisier Future 500, Karis is a member of the British American Project and has completed an MSc in Psychology.
Karis has a column for the Stylebible called ‘Diary of a RockStar’ and is a fashion muse for Craig Lawrence Couture and Naomi Neoh Couture.
Karis is also co-executive producing the first feature film of BAFTA award-winning film director Danny Mulloy.
